The Aspiring Home Interiors was created out of a lifelong love of design, with the intention of inspiring and empowering others to create a home that reflects who they are.
Started by Joy Maier in 2012 and still going today, The Aspiring Home blog shares design DIY ideas and advice from personal and professional experience, household tips passed down through generations, delicious recipes, uplifting stories, design musings, and more.
Joy’s love of design and curating the perfect home began in childhood when she would craft her own miniature houses out of shoe boxes, scraps from notebooks, and anything else she could get her hands on.
After finishing her marketing degree, she discovered a passion for helping others with her creativity. She designed and planned special events and weddings, where she found deep fulfillment in bringing a sense of calm to what was often a very stressful situation.
After reconnecting with her love of fabrics at the LA Garment District, she began home styling, helping people decorate, and find the perfect furnishings for their space.
This experience reignited her true desire to design interiors on a bigger scale. She went on to earn her certification as an interior decorator and is wrapping up her degree in interior design.
After starting The Aspiring Home Blog as a creative outlet in 2012, Joy took the leap of faith in establishing The Aspiring Home Interiors to help people across greater Dallas, Houston, Austin, and beyond to create the home of their dreams.
Joy’s ambition for Aspiring Home Interiors is to help people make the most of their space. By taking the time to fully get to know her clients, from the kind of home they grew up in to their most sentimental belongings, Joy is able to create profoundly personal and beautiful designs.
She creates stunning and comfortable environments, so anyone who steps through your doors will Immediately feel right at home.

I want to give a huge shout-out to Joy Maier from The Aspiring Home for helping us completely transform our new home!! She took our vision and made it into so much more than we expected!! She may have started out helping us design our house, but she became a good friend throughout this process! If you are looking for a designer who can make your dream a reality and not cost you an arm and a leg, Joy is your person! She truly is an amazing soul and I can’t say enough about her! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Joy, for all of your love and support throughout the entire process!! We couldn’t have done it without you!! ❤️
Joy is absolutely amazing to work with. The process was seamless, and she really took the time to get to know what my daughter was interested in before proceeding with deco!
I’ve worked with Joy on multiple projects and the results are always amazing – – so much better than I could have expected. She has such a classic vision, listens to exactly what you want and need, but throws in those unexpected touches that I would have never expected.
Alexa, play “Joy to the World”- Finally, after 6 months of quarantine, I completed the office makeover with the help of Joy Maier! We created a space I spend hours in feel like a place to be inspired and motivated.
I have had the pleasure of working with Joy on more than one project. She is such a pleasure to work with. Although she is not limited to staging, she has done an amazing job with my clients who needed to stage their homes for sale. She swoops in, armed with kindness, tact, and a clipboard! She makes an easy-to-follow plan for my sellers to beautify their homes and make them show-ready. She provides easy and manageable ideas to make spaces open up and come alive. She also is prepared to do big projects that involve massive decluttering and rearranging furniture and decor. So thankful that I was introduced to her and highly recommend her services.
Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.
